We are The Whiskey Nomads with a passion for all things whisk(e)y.

Our tastings are held in and around Belfast every month. All our flights are themed with 5 whiskies carefully selected for each tasting. We ensure that the bottles we select are Non-Chill Filtered with Natural Colour and, when possible, Cask Strength.

You can take the tasting as seriously or as relaxed as you like. The tastings are styled so that there’s something for everyone, so whether you’re an enthusiast or just curious, a local or a visitor, why not come along and join us to try some wonderful drams?

  • The Workhorse Distillery Tasting

    May's Tasting will be our first to take place upstairs in Hearth, Ballyhackmore.

    Traditionally, Workhorse Distilleries are an integral part of the Scottish Whisky Industry with their huge outputs making up large parts of the Blended Whisky market.
    However, what about when they're bottled as a Single Malt - are they any good? Why do some distilleries choose not to release their own Original Bottlings? Can they stand-up against the more recognised Single Malts that are available? As ever, we've dipped into the Indepedent Bottle Market and picked up 5 releases from 3 Bottlers, none of whom we have featured before: The Single Cask, Tri Carragh, and The Scotch Malt Whisky Society (SMWS).

    On the evening, you will receive a complimentary beer on arrival before making your way upstairs to join us for the tasting. Please feel free to come up from 19:15, say hello and get your table ready for kicking off at 19:30.

    Dram 5: Caol Ila 15 YO Red Wine Barrel 55.6% (Islay / Peated / 133 Bottles / The Single Cask)

Who We Are.

Hello, we’re Peder and Nick, two close friends from Aberdeen, Scotland, with a passion and love for whisk(e)y.

For the past few years we have both been living and working in Belfast. The city has a rich, storied role in Whiskey History and we are embracing this.

As fans of uisge beatha, we believe that bottles should be opened and enjoyed with fine company in a welcome setting, and that’s what we provide at our tastings.

There are many wonderful offerings to try and, with the industry in Ireland, Scotland, and all over the world seeing an influx in new distilleries, innovation, and variety, we aim to share some of the best whisk(e)y at a fair price.
